homemade pumpkin pie? is this possible?

so, i've always wanted to try to make a pumpkin pie from scratch-aka, use a real pumpkin.  we hadn't carved a pumpkin in years, but thought it was time being that the kid's around and all.  it was actually easier than i thought it would be, so we've decided to attempt pumpkin pie.  do i dare?
