hoping to be as wise at 30 as i was at 18

june 12, 1997 (age 18)
"this book is probably the most special gift i have ever gotten. it was a simple graduation gift from a neighbor, mrs. morris, but to me it is a beginning of a new life. i'm not going to write childish problems or events of the day (unless thoroughly significant), but instead it will become my own book of quotes and reflections on life. perhaps, it will be a quote from a favorite poet (robert frost), or perhaps it will be a poem of my own. whatever it may be it will be important to me-not only now but also in 30 years."

i don't know whether to laugh or cry at my 18 year old self. i remember her so vividly. she was on the precipice of adulthood and am proud she wrote down sooo many important quotes. so now on the dawn of motherhood, i share again in a different forum hoping that the wisdom in those words will inspire me once again.
